What are backgrounds?
Backgrounds are design elements that appear behind your photos and text in your photo book, card and calendars! They add visual interest, color, and style to your pages, helping to create a cohesive and polished look throughout your project.
What background options are available?
Mixbook offers hundreds of premade backgrounds to choose from! Our background library includes:
- Solid colors
- Patterns and textures
- Seasonal and holiday themes
- Event-specific designs (weddings, birthdays, graduations, etc.)
- Nature and landscape themes
- Abstract and artistic designs
You can browse through our extensive collection to find the perfect background that matches your project's theme and style.
Can I use my own custom backgrounds?
Yes! In addition to our premade backgrounds, you can upload your own images to use as backgrounds. This allows you to:
- Use personal photos as background elements
- Incorporate custom designs or artwork
- Match specific color schemes or themes
- Create truly unique and personalized projects
To upload your own background, simply use the upload feature in Mixbook Studio and apply your image as a background element on your page or card. For more information you can follow our guide on "How to Upload Custom Stickers & Backgrounds"
How do I add backgrounds?
You can add a background to a specific page of your project while in the Mixbook studio.
When you are on the page you'd like to add a background to, go to the left hand side of the studio and click "bckgrds". You can add a pre-existing background or add a custom background of your own!
Simply click the background you want to use and it will instantly apply to the page you are on! This is the same for books, cards & calendars!
Can I automatically apply a background to all pages?
Currently, Mixbook Studio does not have a feature to automatically apply the same background to all pages of your project. Backgrounds need to be manually applied to each individual page.
If you'd like to use the same background throughout your project, you'll need to add it to each page separately.
Where to find the backgrounds I used?
In the background section, there is a section called "Project Backgrounds" where all the backgrounds used within the project are listed.
Tips for using backgrounds effectively
- Keep it subtle: Choose backgrounds that complement rather than overpower your photos
- Consider readability: If adding text, ensure your background choice doesn't make text difficult to read
- Create consistency: Using similar background styles throughout your project creates a cohesive look
- Save time: Add backgrounds as you build each page to streamline your workflow
