Getting Started with Your Card Design Theory
When creating a card with Mixbook, start by selecting the template that fits your vision. Before you jump into designing, you'll need to choose your card shape (trim) and format (folded, magnet, flat, etc.). These selections can't be changed once you start designing, so it's important to get them right from the start!
Follow the instructions below based on the device you're using to make sure your card setup is exactly how you want it.

Desktop & Mobile:
- Find your perfect template
- Browse through Mixbook's card templates, including blank cards
- Click on the image of your chosen template to get started
- Open the full customization menu
- Click "View full product info" at the bottom of the screen
- Pro tip: While the "Card variations" dropdown (top left) lets you quickly pick size and shape, we highly recommend using "View full product info" to access all personalization options, including format
- Choose your card specifications
- Format (can't be changed once you start designing)
- Trim (can't be changed once you start designing)
- Quantity (adjustable anytime)
- Paper Type (adjustable anytime)

- Click "Personalize" to start creating your cards!
Mixbook App:
- Start by choosing your format and size– this helps us show you the perfect templates!
- From the Mixbook app home page, click "Cards"
- You'll see filter options above the popular categories: Category, Format, Style, Color, Orientation, Size, and Number of Photos
- Pick your card specifications
- Select one option from each category "Format", "Size" & "Orientation"
- This ensures you see templates that match exactly what you're looking for
- Quick tip: Stick to one format and one size to keep your order on track

- Choose from blank cards or pre-designed options that fit your vision
- Click on your favorite template to move forward
- Customize and start creating
- Select your trim, quantity, and paper finish
- Click the purple arrow to jump into the design studio and bring your cards to life!
